Two Lakes Cottage is perfect for a unique and tranquil getaway with 3.5 acres of land to provide you with all the privacy you desire. Our 2000sq ft log home is nestled between Head Lake & Rush Lake’s connecting river so you get 🛶 access to both lakes from our property! Relax in our Sauna, spend your days on our large upper deck which features a unique glass treehouse with refreshing river views, and your nights by the fire pit or Hot tub (Available ALL YEAR). Good to know

Our 4 bedroom 2 bath is perfect for hosting families of up to 8 comfortably. This property is great for fishing 🎣 and all sort of water activities 🛶 during summer. Large land allows you to play all sort of games, we provide some lawn games like corn hole, Lawn bowling and few others to pick from as well. Water equipment: 🛶 1 Single Seater Kayak 1 Double Seater Kayak 1 Peddle Boat that seats 4 Life Jackets of all sizes included Game room: Foosball Table Mini game table - 3 in 1 - Air Hockey, Pool 🎱 and Ping Pong Plenty of board games ♟️ PS3 and Xbox 🎮

Other Details to Note

Access to the lakes 🛶: To the right on the river is Head Lake, which is about a 3-minute kayak trip, and to the left is Rush Lake, which is about a 5-minute kayak trip. Pick either lake to go and explore! Note for Sept 2025 - Due to the dry season and forest fire in this area, the lakes and creek water levels have decreased, and large boats can not be taken into the lake. Kayaks can be taken with a bit of push through a narrow pathway. Hint - Don’t forget your picnic 🧺, there is a unique island on Head Lake where you can park your kayaks and swim 🏊‍♀️. Hot tub 🛁 and sauna (ALL YEAR) : Please bring your own indoor slippers, swimsuit, and bathrobe to enjoy the hot tub. Coffee ☕️ machine : We provide a dripping coffee machine and a filter for it. Please bring your own coffee powder. Internet 💻 : Starlink internet provided, speeds of up to 150mb/s so working from the property is not an issue! Phone📱 : Engage with Wi-Fi calling on your phone to get flawless phone calls at the property. Instructions can be found in the house manual. Garbage 🗑️: You can leave two bags of garbage for a 2 - 3-night stay and 4 bags for weekly stays. $10/bag charge for anything more than that. Alternatively, dispose of at the nearby Laxton dump ground (10 mins away) for free when sorted properly as per Kawartha rules, open on Sunday and Thursday only. Outdoor fire pit 🪵 🔥: Please do not leave fire unattended. If using the wood from the property, please use it responsibly, as there is a huge restocking cost associated. ⚠️ April notes - ⛔️ Kawartha city has a ban on firewood burning in April. The penalty for this is starting from $500 according to the bylaws. Indoor fireplace/wood stove 🏡 🪵 🔥: Never leave fire unattended. Let us know before and after you have used. Note: We do not recommend using the wood stove if you’re not familiar with a 3-way traditional wood stove for safety and liability concerns. Additional cleaning service 🧹 (optional): Daily or additional mid-week cleaning available for an additional cost. Please let the host know that you need the service.

House Rules

Cottage Rules: 1. Maximum of 8 guests per STR regulations. 2. Loud or excessive noise in backyard after 11pm is not permitted. 3. Smoking inside cottage will result in $1500 fine. 4. You can leave two large bags of garbage for up to 3 nights stays and 4 bags for a week long stay. Any thing more than is $10 per bag or you can take it with you. 5. Maximum of 5 cars on premises. 6. Parties or gatherings of unregistered guests are not permitted. 7. Please do not drive around in the vacant land, ATV’s, trucks into land area due to septic tank and drill well. Spoiling the lawn will result in a fine 8. No fireworks 9. Make sure to use life jackets when using kayaks or boats. They are provided for all sizes. 10. Outdoor security cameras in place for safety and to ensure rules and regulations are followed. 11. Please do not leave any unattended fire in the outdoor fire pit. No open outdoor fire burning in the month of April in all of Kawartha region. 12. Wood stove inside the property is not allowed to use due to safety and technicality related to the use of it. Hot Tub Rules: 1. Must shower prior to entering hot tub. 2. Maximum of 6 people in hot tub. 3. Must close hot tub cover when not in use. 4. No food or drinks in the hot tub. 5. No children under 10 yrs old allowed in hot tub without adult supervision. 6. Hot tub use not permitted after 11pm. 7. Improper use of the hot tub—including entry with body oils or lotions, spilling beverages, introducing bodily fluids, or entering with unwashed hands and feet—will incur a $400 full water replacement and cleaning fee. Cleaning Instructions: 1. Please try to leave the cottage the same way you found it. 2. Wash dishes or leave in dishwasher and start it before leaving. (If cottage is left extremely messy there will be an additional $250 cleaning fee) We want you to enjoy your stay and have fun as long as you are mindful of our rules and take care of our cottage.

Head Lake is known for the pure water and is perfect for water activities, swimming 🏊‍♀️ , fishing 🎣 during summer and winter. On the other hand, Rush lake offers quite moments and perfect to see beautiful sunsets. During your stay you can immerse yourself into nature, watching all kinds of birds 🦅 🦢 & beavers 🦫. Star gazing while at our cottage is truly an incredible experience. 💫 🌌

We had such an amazing stay! The beds were super comfy and spacious, and there was so much to do 
— we especially loved hanging out in the basement! 
 We actually brought a bunch of kitchen supplies (based on our past cottage trips), but we were so pleasantly surprised 
— the kitchen here has everything! From cooking and baking tools to spices, it’s fully stocked.
 We also loved making s’mores by the fire — the free firewood was such a nice touch. Fall is absolutely beautiful here, and we’re already talking about coming back in the summer. The hosts were so nice and super responsive. Highly recommend!

We stayed with another family: 4 adults and 3 teens. There was something for everyone: Games to play, spots to relax, boats to use on the water. The cottage is cozy and rustic. We immediately felt right at home. The location was private and quiet and lovely with the fall colours! Thank you so much!

Road is well maintained, large driveway allows for up to 5 vehicles. The property is maintained during winter. There is a boat 🚤 launch 10 mins away from the property for your motor boats. Closest Food Market 🥗 is 10 mins away. Snowmobile trail are easily accessible from the property.
